MUGLER

MUGLER

Mugler is a fashion and fragrance house, founded by Strasbourg-born Thierry Mugler in 1973. From his first collection ‘Café de Paris’, Mugler developed his version of the Parisian woman through classical references and a futuristic filter, using exaggerated forms to create a modern erogeneity. 1978 saw Mugler open his first Paris boutique and launch menswear.

Mugler branched out into fragrance in 1992, the same year as his first haute couture collection.

Called ‘Angel’, the patchouli-based scent with the sweetness of praline and chocolate is one of the most successful perfumes of all time. Mugler now produces a wide range of fragrances including ‘Alien’ and ‘Angel Men’.

In September 2010, Nicola Formichetti was announced as the new creative director of the Mugler brand, presiding over Sebastien Peigné for womenswear and Roman Kremer for menswear. In December 2017, American designer Casey Cadwallader succeeded Formichetti as creative director.
