Between Castañer and the espadrilles there’s a long love story which started in 1927 and which has gone on so far respecting and keeping the same values and traditions, it was necessary to wait till the revolutionary 60s so that the espadrilles were famous and achieved their emblematic status as summer shoes.

 For Spring/Summer 2021 the Spanish Brand pays tribute to that time, symbol of freedom and flourishing which has given rise to one of the most important aesthetic and cultural revolutions of modern times.

Due to this reason the new CASTAÑER collectionis dedicatedto all thosewho have contributedwith their artto what we are today:whether it is through a camera, through books or songs, orby participating in the feminist movement. Giorgia O ́Keeffe, Janis Joplin, Brigitte Bardot, Yoko Ono, Bod Dylan, Jane Birkin… 

A long list of icons that have inspired a real innovative collection and in Mediterranean colours, rich in textures and materials, jute, linen, leather, pierced fabric, braided raffia. Also rich in details, such as trimmings, stripes, and fully hand embroidered flowery patterns. 

Unique shoes made by the expert hands of local artisans that are eco-responsible, as well. All Castañer espadrilles are produced based on long-lasting materials and certified products such as the glue and water-based colours, 100% of natural origin.
