Creative Director Maria Fontanellas studied fashion in Milan. She returned to Barcelona to find Mietis alongside with her father Fernando.
The union of Maria’s keen eye for curated designs and Fernando’s background in the leather tanning business have turned a family heritage into an international contemporary firm.
Mietis comes from a family leather tannery, supplier of high-end brands since 1954. The familiar expertise in the treatment of the leather, allows Mietis to ensure the best material in all bags, which are crafted by Spanish artisans who have worked in the industry for decades. Mietis bags have resulted in an outpur of features in the likes of Vogue, L’Officiel, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, and Marie Claire. Many celebrities have been seen wearing Mietis like Elsa Holsk, Pryanka Chopra, Katherine Swatzenegger, Keke Palmer or Ava Max.
